Amazon Prime Video Lets FreeVee Go
Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to watch Jury Duty for freevee.
The court has decided that Amazon FreeVee is no more. No, there aren’t any cameras or James Marsden lurking around the corner! On Tuesday, Prime Video announced that they will discontinue the ad-supported streaming service. Fear not! You’ll still be able to watch your faves like Jury Duty and Primo— even without a Prime subscription. “To deliver a simpler viewing experience for customers, we have decided to phase out Freevee branding,” an Amazon spokesperson explained in a statement to Vulture. “There will be no change to the content available for Prime members, and a vast offering of free streaming content will still be accessible for non-Prime members, including select Originals from Amazon MGM Studios, a variety of licensed movies and series, and a broad library of FAST Channels – all available on Prime Video.” The streamer confirms that the FreeVee app will still be available to use, but eventually, users will be redirected to the Prime Video app. Former FreeVee programs will be labeled “Free to Watch” to avoid confusion with paid content. At least the chair pants have been saved from becoming lost media.
