Beyoncé’s heading home to Houston for Christmas — to play the halftime show of one of Netflix’s first NFL games. Queen Bey revealed the news in a Cowboy Carter–esque video set to “Ameriican Requiem,” wearing a red, white, and blue western outfit and standing atop a rose-colored classic car. Could our Christmas gift be her first Cowboy Carter performance? She’s gotta do “Texas Hold ’Em” in Texas, right? The performance will be part of Netflix’s two-game Christmas Day NFL slate, a first for the streamer. The matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans is the second of the slate, kicking off at 4:30 p.m. ET. Netflix has been facing questions over its ability to handle live events after struggles during the weekend’s Mike Tyson–Jake Paul fight, so booking Beyoncé is a pretty confident move. If streams go out during that halftime show, Netflix better be ready to face the wrath of the BeyHive.
