Britney Spears Moves to Mexico to Escape Paparazzi

The celeb exodus from America continues. Ellen, Richard Gere, America Ferrera, now Britney Spears. But Britney left the USA for a very specific reason: escaping the dang paps. “It really kind of hurts my feelings that the paparazzi make my face look like I’m wearing like a white Jason mask. It doesn’t even look like me. They’ve always been incredibly cruel to me, the paparazzi and pictures and the way they’ve illustrated me to be in some of it,” she said in her birthday Instagram post. “That’s why I’ve moved to Mexico.”
Spears has had a contentious relationship with the paparazzi as long as the paparazzi have been a force in American media. We even had a whole media cycle chastising the press for their role in her mental health. But it seems like that didn’t change things enough for Spears. Maybe a new country will do the trick.
Spears turned 43 on Monday, though she joked on IG that she was turning 5, “and I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow.” That also happened to be the day her divorce from Sam Asghari was finalized. Lots to celebrate all around!
