“Boom, clap!” is the sound of the film slate for Charli XCX’s next feature. Variety reports that the Brat superstar is collaborating with A24 for an upcoming film called The Moment—of course, that’s the name; she is the moment.

What is The Moment about?

The film is based on an idea created by Charli and will be the first movie from her new production company, Studio365. According to Deadline, the film will be a mockumentary about a pop star, leading up to her first headlining arena tour. Aidan Zamiri and Bertie Brandes wrote the script, and the former will direct the picture. 2AM’s David Hinojosa, Brandon Creed, Mikey Schwartz-Wright, and Zach Nutman are a part of the producing team.

Who is in Charli’s Brat pack?

Rosanna Arquette, Alexander Skarsgard, and Trew Mullen have all signed on for The Moment. It’ll be Arquette’s second time playing opposite an era-defining pop star, as she desperately sought Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan. Charli underscored the reference by posting a still from that movie on her IG stories, alongside a pic of Skarsgard in the “Paparazzi” music video. Per Deadline, Arquette will play the head of Charli’s label, Mullen will play her assistant, and Skarsgard will be artsy eurotrash.

What else does Charli XCX have going on?

Charli is very much in her movie era; she’s starring in six upcoming films: 100 Nights of Hero, Erupcja, Faces of Death, I Want Your Sex, Sacrifice, and The Gallerist. But this time, she’s the mastermind of the silver screen. Which is the brattest you could possibly be.
