A new Cruel Intentions is coming to your TV screens, attempting to prove all of the millennials who say “Gen-Z hates sex” wrong. The original movie, adapted from Les Liaisons Dangereuses, is a ‘90s classic, full of sex, step-siblings, and danger. Vulture Festival 2024 got a tease ahead of the series premiere on Prime Video on November 21. Sarah Catherine Hook plays Caroline Merteuil and Zac Burgess plays her step-brother Lucien Belmont, and, yes, the new generation of actors is familiar with the not-quite-incest-since-they’re-step-siblings. “I secretly watched it as a teenager and didn’t tell my parents,” actress Brooke Lena Johnson said about the film at a Vulture Festival panel on November 17.

Plus, the series adds a relationship between the son of a Congressman, Scott (Khobe Clarke), and frat leader Blaise (John Harlan Kim). “To me, growing up, it was the naughty film,” Kim said. “It was sort of this like forbidden thing and I remember watching it for the first time and I didn’t really know what was going on, but I was happy to be there.”
