Eminem Unleashes ‘Street Fighter’-Themed ‘Fuel’ Video With J.I.D

It’s not Ryu or Chun-Li, but Slim Shady.

Eminem returned Monday (Nov. 19) to deliver the Street Fighter-themed “Fuel” lyric video featuring J.I.D. The animated clip follows both artists on their journey through the game, as J.I.D takes the baton and heads to an arcade to hop on the sticks.

Em joins the party for a match-up of two versions of himself, with Eminem versus Slim Shady, which plays off the themes of his The Death of Slim Shady album that arrived in July.

Fans lent their stamps of approval to the Mr. Porter-produced track in Em’s YouTube comments section. “I really appreciate everything Eminem drops we only get one of him,” one person wrote.

Another fan gushed: “Top 5 from the album, Eminem and jid went crazy!”

The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) was released in July and served as Eminem’s first LP since 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 281,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending July 18, according to Luminate.

“Fuel” ended up reaching No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100, and a Shady Edition of the track was later remixed featuring Westside Boogie and GRIP.

Earlier in November, Eminem was announced as a nominee for the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Just six out of the 26 nominees will be inducted at a June 2025 ceremony in NYC. Janet Jackson and N.W.A are also among the nominees.

In other Em and “Lose Yourself” news, a superfan went viral for using lyrics from the 2002 8 Mile hit as part of her wedding vows earlier this year.

Rizza-Belen Diaz quoted lyrics to her husband Josh Dodson: “If you had one shot or one opportunity,” she began. “To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment/ Would you capture it or just let it slip?” Diaz then put her own twist on the bars: “It looks like you captured it/ And here I am, palms are sweaty/ Knees weak, arms are heavy/ No vomit on my dress/ But I do love your mom’s spaghetti.”
