Full House Actor Dave Coulier Has Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
He started chemotherapy for the Stage 3 cancer.
Dave Coulier, best known as Joey on Full House, has non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The actor told People he was diagnosed with the Stage 3 cancer in October, during treatment for an upper-respiratory infection. “I went from I got a little bit of a head cold to I have cancer, and it was pretty overwhelming,” he said. Doctors initially told him it was “very aggressive,” but after a negative bone-marrow biopsy, Coulier said “his chances of curable went from something low to the 90 percent range.” Coulier also spoke about the diagnosis on his podcast, Full House Rewind, adding that he had shaved his head after starting chemotherapy. On the podcast, he remembered his sister, niece, and mother, who all died of breast cancer — his sister at age 36, during season five of Full House. “I saw what they went through, and if I can be even half as strong as they were during their battles, I’m gonna put up a pretty good fight,” Coulier said.
