Gal Gadot received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame amid disruptions from both pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protesters on March 18. In videos posted on social media from outside the event, a pro-Palestine protester steals an Israeli flag from a pro-Israel protester and runs away, getting chased by the police. “A reimagining of Disney Studios’ classic 1937 film …,” an announcer drones nearby. Gadot, who is starring in Disney’s upcoming Snow White as the Evil Queen, is Israeli, served in the Israel Defense Forces after winning Miss Israel, and has spoken out in support of the country in recent years. “I’m just a girl from a town in Israel. This star will remind me that with hard work and passion and some faith, anything is possible,” Gadot said while receiving the star, per Variety. Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, Gadot’s Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel, and Israeli actress Shira Haas also spoke at the event.
