HYBE Teams With Ryan Tedder to Form & Train New Global Boy Group
The project will be led by Tedder, HYBE chairman Bang Si-Hyuk and HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun.

HYBE is partnering with Grammy-winning producer and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder to form a new boy group, the company announced Thursday (Feb. 19).
The project, to be led by Tedder alongside HYBE chairman Bang Si-Hyuk and HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun, will kick off with a global talent search. Once the members of the group are chosen, a training program fusing HYBE’s storied K-pop development program with creative direction from Tedder will commence in Los Angeles. Tedder has previously worked with HYBE artists including girl group KATSEYE (“Debut”), &TEAM (“Dropkick”) and TOMORROW X TOGETHER (“Back for More” with Anitta).
The boy band initiative follows HYBE’s recent partnership with Geffen Records on the launch of KATSEYE, which was also trained under the HYBE artist development model.
“Artists under HYBE have consistently reached impressive global milestones, dominating charts year after year,” said Chairman Bang in a statement. “Especially with KATSEYE, we’ve demonstrated that our K-pop methodology is successful in the U.S. mainstream market. Launching a new boy group in
collaboration with Ryan Tedder will be another step in continuing our legacy within the music industry.”
Added Tedder, “I’m thrilled to partner with HYBE on this new exciting project, Bang and his team have proven to be the best fan-engaging creatives out there and we want to build a group that is the most fan-focused on earth with the best music imaginable.”
Applicants to the project, which is open to individuals of all nationalities between the ages of 13 to 23, must submit a photo portfolio, performance videos and a personal introduction video. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the coming year. Complete details can be found here.
