In an Oscar First, 2025 Telecast to Stream Live on Hulu in Addition to Airing Live on ABC

For the first time since the Oscars were first televised in 1953, the 2025 edition of the granddaddy of all award shows will stream live on Hulu for all subscribers, in addition to airing live on ABC.

Many award shows, even those still airing on broadcast networks, have taken on streaming partners in recent years. The Country Music Association Awards, which also air on ABC, have streamed on Hulu since 2022.

The Grammys, which air on CBS, have streamed on Paramount + since 2023. On Oct. 30, the Recording Academy announced a new 10-year global deal for The Grammys to be exclusively simulcast on ABC, Hulu and Disney+ beginning in 2027.

The Tonys, which air on CBS, have streamed on Paramount + in all but once year since 2021.

The American Music Awards’ last regular yearly show, in 2022, aired on ABC and streamed on Hulu. The AMAs’ 50th anniversary show, in October, aired on CBS and streamed on Paramount +. The show is moving to CBS for their next regular yearly show in 2025.

The Academy of Country Music Awards were out front on this move to streaming by moving from CBS to Amazon Prime Video in 2022.

The Oscars will air live on ABC and stream live on Hulu and broadcast outlets worldwide on Sunday, March 2 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, with the official live red carpet show airing at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. The telecast will also be available on Hulu next day.

Conan O’Brien is set to host the show for the first time. Raj Kapoor returns as executive producer and showrunner, Katy Mullan as executive producer, and Hamish Hamilton as director. The 97th Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.
