J. Cole Shares Wiz Khalifa ‘Clouds’ Freestyle

The Blog Era is back?

Both J. Cole and Wiz Khalifa have been going back to the fundamentals to start off 2025. They’ve each achieved massive success over the course of their careers and they know that to stay motivated, you sometimes have to do the things that got you there.

After releasing his Inevitable podcast last year that essentially worked as career retrospective, Cole launched his Algorithm blog, where he quips about things like AI and shares music he likes like a live performance from Tems.

On Thursday (March 7), the Carolina rapper shared a Wiz Khalifa “Clouds” freestyle, saying that he “skated,” acknowledged the run Wiz has been on lately, as the Pittsburgh rapper has been dropping new music left and right since 2025 kicked off, and posted a new song from Premo Rice, Harry Fraud, Curren$y and Wiz entitled “Jill Scott.”

And Cole didn’t lie about him skating, as he compared his rolling skills to Origami and boasts that he taught a generation how to roll a proper joint.

Last week, Wiz teased his freestyle in a video he posted on Instagram and told fans Cole reached out for him to get on it. “Cole asked me to do a verse on here,” he wrote. “And I don’t know when he’s gonna drop it so I figured I’d let y’all get a sneak peek. Taylor Gang the world.”

The Pittsburgh rapper is also planning on releasing the sequel to his classic mixtape Kush & Orange Juice on April 18 just in time for 4/20, which might explain this Blog Era run he’s been on.

You can check the song out on The Algorithm.
