Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good Announce Their Engagement
The couple got together two months after Majors was arrested for domestic violence charges.
Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good announced their engagement at the EBONY Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday, confirms People. The two met at the same event several years ago before formally announcing their relationship in May 2023. Good stood by Majors amid his legal troubles, especially since they got officially together two months after he was arrested for a domestic dispute with his ex. In December 2023, Majors was found guilty of assault and harassment in a domestic violence case against ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari and was sentenced to a Batterers Intervention Program in April. Vulture has reached out to Majors and Good’s team for comment.
He’s frequently noted Good’s support throughout their relationship, comparing her to Coretta Scott King (even if it’s not the first girlfriend he’s done that too) as she’s accompanied him to several of his trial hearings. However, none of the growing allegations seemed to have bothered Good, as she explained to People earlier this year, “He actually tried to encourage me not to be with him. He wanted to protect me. I was like, ‘My love, first of all, you’re dealing with a Black Leo. And also, I grew up in this industry. The things that I’ve been through gave me the bandwidth to love other people, regardless.” Leo confidence aside, Majors is still in legal trouble after his guilty conviction. Jabbari sued the actor in March 2024 for defamation and battery; there have been no further updates on the lawsuit since its report.
