Shaboozey Reacts to Major Hot 100 Accomplishment: ‘What the F—-!’
"A Bar Song (Tipsy)" is now the longest-leading No. 1 on the Hot 100 by a single artist.
Someone pour Shaboozey up a double shot of whiskey, because he’s continuing to dominate the charts with “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” seven months after its release.
The smash hit is at No. 1 for a 17th total week atop the Billboard Hot 100. Over the chart’s 66-year history, the song is now the longest-leading No. 1 by a single artist and no accompanying acts, surpassing the 16-week record of Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” in 2023.
“WHAT THE F—!” the 29-year-old artist wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in response to the exciting news. “Love y’all so much! Let’s do it again,” he followed up in another post, urging fans to pre-save his upcoming song “Good News,” which he previously teased on TikTok.
His Hot 100 accomplishment is just the cherry on top of a massive week for the breakout star. He snagged five nominations for the 2025 Grammys, including best melodic rap performance for his “Spaghettii” duet with Beyoncé, and a “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” was recognized for best country solo performance, best country song and song of the year. He’s also up for best new artist at the ceremony.
“This is kind of crazy how much the song carried on its own,” he told Billboard of the track’s lasting success before he broke Wallen’s record. “We don’t even do anything and it’s like, ‘Hey, you’re aiming for a 17th week now!’ [Laughs] Some people will do a couple of different remixes or they’ll do the instrumental and the a cappella and all these different versions. We reached out to a lot of people trying to do a remix early on, but we couldn’t find something that made sense. For ‘A Bar Song’ to still be doing what it’s doing is insane.”
