The Box Office Isn’t Cravin’ Kraven the Hunter

Madame Web may not be least successful Spider-Man spinoff this year.

The Aaron Taylor-Johnson-starring film Kraven the Hunter is hot (physically), but box-office-wise? It’s getting a cold shoulder. The $110 million Spider-Man spinoff that is not allowed to mention Spider-Man earned just $2 million in preview-night revenue on Thursday, December 12, per The Hollywood Reporter. That means it earned $0.2 million less in previews than its sister-in-webs, Madame Web. So far, the film is projected to make $15 million in opening weekend — the worst opening weekend for a Spider-Man-related film since 2005’s Jennifer Garner–starring Elektra. (At least Garner got to be in a hit this year when she reprised the role in Deadpool & Wolverine.)

Maybe word of mouth will spread about how insane Taylor-Johnson’s arms are and, by Christmas, the whole family will attend.
