Ben Stiller Soft-Launches Severance Season 3 to the Kelce Brothers
And he says it won’t take that long this time.

For the second time in two weeks, a comedian has spoiled news about his popular Apple TV+ series to … the Kelce brothers? First, it was Jason Sudeikis confirming on March 14 that Ted Lasso was coming back for a fourth season and that Ted would coach a women’s team in it. Now, Ben Stiller all but confirmed that Severance is returning for a third season. He’s even giving out details about timing. While chatting on New Heights, Jason and Travis Kelce’s podcast, on March 19, Travis asked Stiller if the wait between seasons two and three was going to be as long as the wait between seasons one and two. “No, the plan is not, definitely not,” Stiller said. “And, hopefully, we’ll be announcing what the plan is very soon.” What is it about the Kelces and Apple TV+?
Stiller went on to explain the wait for season two: “There was a writers’ and actors’ strike, and it took us a little bit to kind of regroup after that. I think we shot for 186 days on season two. There’s a lot of shooting and editing, and editing takes a while, but thank goodness that the audience was there when we came back on. It almost built the suspense up even more.” Puck, meanwhile, reported on April 27, 2023, that the delay was because of tensions between show creator Dan Erickson and executive producer Mark Friedman, which Stiller hasn’t explicitly denied. “It’s not always perfect,” he told The Interview on January 11. “We went through patches when there were difficulties. It came out of everybody wanting something to be as good as it could be. There was some stuff that happened, but it wasn’t a big deal.” So, this time, it won’t be long until the goats are baaaa-ck.
