Cynthia Erivo Is Holding Space for the Tony Awards
Hosting this year’s ceremony at Radio City Music Hall.

It is now time to prepare yourself for an opening number so bombastic that you end up physically blown back into your sofa while watching from home. Cynthia Erivo is hosting the 2025 Tony Awards. This bald-headed beauty is capping off a banner season in which she starred in Wicked, starred in the press tour for Wicked, and scored an Oscar nomination for Wicked. Erivo won a Tony Award for her performance as Celie in the revival of The Color Purple in 2016 (a.k.a. the Hamilton year) and cemented her place in Broadway history with a performance of Celie’s “I’m Here” at the show. This year’s Tony Awards will be held at Radio City Music Hall on June 8 and broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ with Showtime beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Will Ariana Grande be there? Only time will tell …
