Pete Davidson, Please Help Me Find a Reformation Dress
The comedian and actor models his new tattooless body.

Pete Davidson is a comedian and an actor, but most important, he is a boyfriend of the past and future. Or so he hopes you consider him as he steps into a new role: Reformation model.
As Reformation’s “Official Boyfriend,” Davidson reveals not only his more sensitive side but also his new tattooless side. Clad in Reformation boxers and an “Official Boyfriend” sweatshirt, the comedian affirms his status as “the go-to complement to beautiful and talented women everywhere,” per the clothing brand. Is Davidson’s underwear spot a Skims dig? It’s probably not that complicated, but his turn as well-behaved, bare-skinned significant other — “partner,” even — as opposed to scandal-attracting, edgy paramour seems like a vibe shift, if nothing else.
This is no longer a paparazzi magnet or wayward partier; this is a guy you can introduce to your mom, who buys theater tickets and knows your rising sign. Or so the admittedly cheeky commercial will have you believe. What’s especially funny about Davidson’s latest turn is that it actually works. While his spots for Taco Bell or Smart Water work overtime to convince the consumer he’s a normal hydrated guy who eats breakfast, his Reformation ad just doubles down on something we already know: This is a guy who has been a boyfriend. While Davidson sits in the Reformation dressing room, slipping his phone under a cushion for maximum emotional labor, he spouts out a series of farcical supportive statements, affirming an imaginary girlfriend’s dreams are so interesting she should write a book and saying they should go to Italy.
The Reformation spot comes on the heels of Davidson’s voice performance in Dog Man — unless you are a child, you may be unaware that he is not the titular Dog Man but instead Petey the Cat, Dog Man’s nemesis — and ahead of some bizarre if not promising acting spots, like whatever he’s doing in David Michôd’s delayed Wizards! alongside Orlando Bloom and Franz Rogowski. Oh, and there’s that little old ferry he bought with Colin Jost. Wouldn’t it be fun to date a guy who has a boat? The Reformation spot is really burying the lede on that perk. What matters, though, is that Davidson is back on the market, whatever that may mean to you. Cast him, date him, ask him if that dress makes you look short. Like any good boyfriend, he’s around.
