Tax Day isn’t usually much to celebrate — except this year, when it will, fittingly, mark ten days until the release of The Accountant 2. Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal’s action sequel hits theaters April 25 after a South by Southwest premiere on March 8. That’s nearly nine years after The Accountant first introduced us to Affleck’s accountant killer, Christian Wolff. “It was so frustrating,” Affleck told Vanity Fair about the production delays. The sequel reportedly finds Christian and his brother, Brax (played by Bernthal), teaming up to solve a murder. “I love Jon so much as an actor and as a guy,” Affleck said. “I have a real fondness that I thought would translate easily into this sort of brother relationship.” Love is certainly a funny word to use about the movie that (allegedly) distracted Affleck from his marriage to Jennifer Lopez. But really, would you rather stay married to your long-unrequited love or make an action flick with your buddy?
