Legal drama won’t stop this comedy thriller. Amid ongoing litigation between Blake Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, Lively’s next film has set its world premiere. Another Simple Favor, Paul Feig’s follow-up to his 2018 film starring Lively and Anna Kendrick, will open SXSW 2025 on March 7. The sequel to A Simple Favor will see Stephanie (Kendrick) and Emily (Lively) headed to Capri for the latter’s wedding to a rich Italian businessman. According to a press release, we should expect to see “glamorous guests,” murder, and betrayal. And given the design of a poster shared by Feig, it also seems safe to assume that there will be some gin martinis in the mix.

SXSW 2025 will run (without the military partnerships this time) from March 7 to March 15 in Austin, Texas. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be back at my favorite festival in the world where we successfully launched Bridesmaids and Spy, and I cannot begin to say how honored I am to have our film opening it all,” Feig said in a statement. “I’ve avoided making sequels to any of my films but these characters were just too much fun not to revisit.” Feig went on to suggest that Lively will be among the cast members joining him to watch Another Simple Favor “with the great SXSW audience.” Afterward, the movie is set to drop on Prime Video on May 1. Could this be the start of Lively’s first press tour since It Ends With Us?
