We’re in the full swing of awards season, where each new week brings at least one new awards show to the table. Last week it was the PGAs and the DGAs. This week comes the British Academy of Film and Television Awards, otherwise known as the venue at which Ariana DeBose once sang that “Angela Basset did the thing.” And how true that was, Ariana. Conclave scored the most nominations heading into the ceremony, with 12, but Emilia Pérez was on its heels with 11.

The BAFTAs often signal how the international voting bloc go, so congrats to Pope Crave and the Conclave hive. The prophecy that the 2025 Oscars race will mirror the plot of Conclave is coming true.
